Helen Lee

lee Helen Lee received her Bachelor Degrees in Music Performance and Japanese Linguistics at the University of Washington. Native to Hong Kong, she moved to Seattle at the age of ten and began studying flute four years later with Wendy Wilhelmi. She placed in numerous competitions throughout high school, such as the Metro State Competition, the Seattle Young Artists Festival Competition, and the Bellevue Young Artists Festival Competition. At ages 16 and 17, she placed second and third at the Horsfall Flute Competition and performed live on King FM radio. After high school, she studied flute at the University of Washington on scholarship with Felix Skowronek. She has performed with both the University of Washington Symphony and the Aoyama Gakuin University Symphony in Tokyo. She was an alternate at the UW Concerto Competition two years in a row. Currently, Helen is teaching and performing around the Northwest while auditioning for symphonies around the nation. Helen is a founding member of the Andromeda Winds Consort.
